FAQ for Team Linda Competition

Team “Linda” will go down on December 8th, 2012 at Hybrid Athletics in Stamford, CT.  The format of the wod is simple—

Teams will weigh in the morning of the event.  We will add the weights together for all 3 people and then average them.  The barbells will be set according to the average weight.  For example…Athlete A is 180 pounds.  Athlete B is 190 pounds.  Athlete C is 200 pounds.  The bars will be set up at the team’s average weight…190 pounds.  Squat Clean will be 143, Bench will be 190, Deadlift will be 285.

Athlete A will start at the squat clean station.  Athlete B will start at the Bench Press station.  Athlete C will begin at the Deadlift station.  3,2,1 go…each athlete must complete 10 reps of that particular movement.  Once they have all completed 10 reps they each rotate one station where they begin to perform 10 reps of that movement.  After they’ve done 10 reps they rotate one more time and perform 10 reps at the 3rd station.  At this point they are back where they began the wod.  This is the start of round 9.  They will repeat the process until they have all gone from 10 down to 1.

No athlete can continue on until they have all completed the set number of reps….stadium style.  In other words…you cannot pass a team mate.  You must wait for them to complete their work before you can rotate as a team.

Squat Cleans ONLY!!!!

Men must go RX…average of their weight.  Women have the option of going RX(66% of the team’s average weight) or they can go RX+ which would be 100% of their team’s average weight.  When registering for the competition each team has the option of choosing their division AND their start time.  They also have the choice of t-shirt sizes for each team member.  See the registration page here-http://hybridathletics.net/december-8th-hybrid-athletics-competition-sign-up/

I am looking for judges and volunteers to help spot…especially on the bench press.  With your help this competition will be truly memorable.  Spaces are filling up quickly.  Please come out and be a part of the first ever “Linda” competition.  The trophy and shirts alone are worth the entry!!!

If the clean is caught in the power position, can the lifter then squat below parallel or will that be an automatic no rep?

  4. Just registered our team. Extra small tshirt size was not listed, so we just put down 3 smells. If possible, we would like 2 extra smells and 1 small. Thanks!
